Team Fortress 2 includes a console command that, when activated, causes the player to explode. While this doesn't serve any real purpose, it can still be used for fun.
Steps
-
Make sure the console is enabled. To check, press ' without brackets in game. If the console appears, proceed to step 3. Otherwise, continue to step 2.
-
Enable the Console. In the Options menu, find the check box next to "Enable Developer Console". Make sure this has a check in it.Advertisement
-
Bind a key. In the console, type bind (any key) '"explode"'. Be sure not to bind a key that already does something else. If you are using the default keyboard setup, try using p, x, or k, as these keys are not default keys.
-
Explode. In game, press the bound key. Your character will explode into a million bloody chunks.
-
Be creative. Use this new command to stage some funny, horrifying, or just plain weird shows. For example, you could do a "drinking can kill you" demonstration. To do this, play as a demoman, then taunt (default G) while holding the Bottle. Then, while your character is taking a mouthful, press the explode key. Simply type in chat (Default y) "Hey, Drinking kills." You could stage something similar with the Soldier. Taunt with your shovel, then right when he hits himself, explode.

QuestionHow old do I have to be to play TF2? Banana HeadTop AnswererTeam Fortress 2 itself has no age requirement. You need to go through Steam to install TF2, and Steam asks you to be 13 years or older. Team Fortress 2 does have lots of blood, gore, and beheadings. If you cannot handle this kind of violence, do not play the game. It is a game with the mission to kill others. If you or the child you're asking this question for is not mentally prepared to this kind of violence, then do not let them play. Banana HeadTop AnswererTeam Fortress 2 itself has no age requirement. -
If a teammate (preferably one who is new to TF2) spy checks you by hitting you with their melee weapon, EXPLODE!!!Thanks
-
While you do die from exploding, no one is credited for the kill, and no points are deducted. The only downside is that you will have to wait the customary respawn time. Thanks
