The CALUS Mini Tool is a great PvE Solar weapon in Destiny 2, but how you obtain this weapon has changed slightly. You can now get the CALUS Mini Tool by completing the Presage exotic quest via the Exotic Mission Rotator. Learn more about using the Exotic Mission Rotator, as well as a few additional ways to pick up the CALUS Mini Tool, in the article below.

Best Ways to Obtain the CALUS Mini Tool

The most reliable way to get the CALUS Mini Tool is via the Exotic Mission Rotator, a feature added in Season 22. You'll need to wait until the exotic quest of the week is Presage, which has a chance of dropping the CALUS. Rarely, you can also find this weapon in Xur's or Banshee-44's shops.

Getting CALUS Mini Tool with Exotic Mission Rotator

  1. The Exotic Mission Rotator is a new feature added in Season 22 that allows you to play old Exotic missions. The only prerequisite is that you must own the expansion or season associated with that mission. To play Presage, you must own the Season of the Chosen or the Beyond Light DLC.[1]
    • To access the Exotic Mission Rotator, go to the Destinations tab, then Legends. From there, you’ll see the weekly Exotic quest listed.
    • If you’re playing the “Edge of Fate” expansion, you can access Presage by going to the Worlds Tab, then Legends.
  2. There are currently 5 missions in the Exotic Mission Rotator: Presage, Vox Obscura, Operation: Seraph's Shield, //NODE.OVRD.AVALON//, and Starcrossed/Encore/Kell’s Fall. The Exotic Mission Rotator changes once a week, so you can expect to see Presage available every fifth week.
    • The Exotic Mission Rotator schedule can sometimes change, especially with the release of new expansions like “Edge of Fate.”

  3. If you complete the mission on regular difficulty, legendary difficulty, and two runs on any difficulty, you are guaranteed three red border drops. Additional completions will still give rewards, but they're not guaranteed to be red borders.
    • You can craft the CALUS Mini Tool once you get five red border drops of that tool.

  1. Xur is a vendor that sells Legendary and Exotic items, but can only be found on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. He also appears in a random location in the public sectors of the European Dead Zone, Titan, Io, and Nessus, or in the Tower.[2] Xur sells items for Legendary Shards.
    • To easily check what Xur is selling and where he's located for the week, you can use the website whereisxur.com.
  2. Banshee-44 sells legendary weapons in his shop (located in the Tower) for 30 Legendary Shards or 7,000 Glimmer. These weapons rotate on a weekly basis.[3]
    • It's not likely that Banshee-44 will stock the CALUS Mini Tool, but it is possible. Make sure to check in weekly to see if he's selling a copy.
