Learn how to catch this elusive Paradox Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet
PDF download Download Article

Are you trying to get your hands on a Walking Wake in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? Unfortunately, this Paradox Pokémon is a little hard to get since the Tera Raid Battles you can catch it from aren't always available. In this article we'll go over exactly how you can get Walking Wake, both when its raid event is active or not.

How to Catch Walking Wake

The only way to catch Walking Wake is via a 5-Star Tera Raid Battle. However, these raids aren't always available, so if you want to get your hands on this Pokémon you'll have to wait for an event rerun. You can also try trading for Walking Wake, but it's not likely you'll find someone willing to part with theirs.

Tera Raid Battles

  1. The Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid Battles rerun from time to time. Keep an eye on Pokémon news and the Poké Portal News in-game for a rerun of these Tera Raid Battles.[1]
    • In the meantime, if you don't have 5-Star Tera Raid Battles unlocked, this would be a good time to unlock them so you're prepared for Walking Wake's rerun. 5-Star Tera Raids are unlocked in the postgame of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and you must host and complete about 10 to 15 5-Star Tera Raids to unlock 6-Star Tera Raid Battles.
    • The Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid Battles previously ran from February 27, 2023 to March 12, 2023; May 1, 2023 to May 14, 2023; December 25, 2023 to January 7, 2024; and April 26, 2024 to May 6, 2024.[2]
  2. If you have Pokémon Scarlet, you can find Walking Wake's Tera Raid caverns in your own game. However, if you have Pokémon Violet, you'll need to connect to the internet and find Walking Wake Tera Raid Battles online.
    • If you already caught a Walking Wake during a previous Tera Raid Battle event, you can't catch another one. You can, however, repeat the Tera Raid Battle for other rewards.
