Is the Windows 10 keyboard shortcut for taking screenshots (Windows + Shift +S) no longer working for you? Maybe it suddenly stopped working one day, or it just works once after restarting your PC. Don't worry because there are easy ways to fix the issue. This wikiHow article will teach you how to fix Windows key + Shift + S not working on Windows 10. Note that Windows 11 uses the Snipping Tool and doesn't have the same bug.

Fixing Windows Shift S Not Working Working for Screenshots

In 2022, a Windows update contained a bug that made the Windows key + Shift + S shortcut stop working for screenshots. Fix this by updating Windows, enabling Clipboard History, and allowing notifications for Snip & Sketch.

Enable Snip & Sketch notifications.

Without these permissions, you can't see that your shortcuts are working. To enable these notifications, go to Settings > Notifications & sounds > Snip & Sketch and make sure the toggle is on.
- If you don't see it, chances are that the program isn't installed on your computer. In that case, install it from the Microsoft Store.
